YOU’VE GOT TO REGENERATE YOUR DREAMS
Have you ever got to a point in life where you constantly find yourself reflecting and asking yourself candid questions about your life?
Where are you? Where you would wish to be? Where had you planned to be?
Most of us if not all, at one point or another got used to writing down our annual goals; some went steps further and spread the goal to five years or more, which is quite impressive.
My only concern is:
- How many of us follow our dreams through to the end?
- How many of us are diligent, intentional and have purposed to work out their dreams continuously?
- Do we even review them?
- Do we even remember where we jotted them down?
- Do we have them off head or at our fingertips?
Any dream written and neglected is as good as dead. We need to have our dreams on our fingertips. I do agree that dreams can change or increase along the way; that is why we should always exercise the power of the pen where our dream is concerned.
Sitting and reflecting is good and healthy. Appreciating and celebrating one’s milestones is vital, but let us not stop there. The reason we periodically find ourselves asking personal candid questions is that we have unknowingly become experts at “broken focus”. It is a recipe for failure. How we begin has never been the problem. In most instances, the problem lays largely on the journey and towards the finish line. Most of us get comfortable on the journey then later raise concern at the burial stage.
Fulfilling one’s dream is demanding and overwhelming! It comes with a lot of pressure therefore, focus is key. It is not easy; it can be very painful and most times, the journey is lonely but sticking to it generates positive results. You need to get back to your dream. There is a place in life where it is okay to support someone’s dream but as you support others, don’t ever lose yourself in the process.
